Since you asked...

Several readers wondered how long that Slumber Party cake (below) took to make.

Here's what the maker wrote me:

"I baked the cakes (three of them) on Thursday, and started work on filling and decorating at 7:30 Friday morning. I called it quits around 4:00 Friday afternoon! I made the girl, the bunny slippers, and overnight bag Wednesday night, and it's a good thing I did. The party started at 6:00 Friday evening, and was 45 minutes away!"

(Just thought you'd like to know.)

I've seen sculptures in galleries that took less time...and were not as well done either.

Hello John. Forgive me for being absent for such a long time. I did not mean to be - mentally I have more not so good days than good days. But I so enjoyed catching up on all your posts. I love reading your blog.

My favourite part of the cake? The popcorn and slippers. Such incredible detail.

I haven't checked in in quite a while, so I didn't know you'd posted this. Imagine my surprise, and delight, when I arrive at my favorite blog, and see my cake! Thanks, again, for your compliments. Don has asked me to make one for the detectives' Thanksgiving party this week. I'm thinking a "table full of food." We'll see how it goes.

No, I haven't been lurking, either!

Sal,

Gee, your favorite blog had pictures of your cake on it too? I thought MY blog was the only one...

Regardless, I want to see pictures of the "table full of food" cake! And so do all my myriad OTHER readers (BOTH of them!)

Please email me visuals as soon as they are available.

Thanks for stopping by.

John
