No news

Thanks to all of you who have expressed sympathy or good wishes. Carol's Aunt Dorris did have a Living Will, and so once it was determined that she was essentially "gone," the life support measures were removed.

As of this writing we've not yet received word that her body has expired, but it will be very soon. Both Carol and her mom are in agreement that, given Dorris' declining quality of life, this was not a bad way to go. And both are glad that the living will was in place, removing any doubt as to her wishes concerning the life support.

Pulling the plug would always be difficult if those wishes were not not known; much less so in these circumstances.

Death is an inevitable part of life. Best we all prepare for it.

Please give Carol my deepest sympathies. I agree, all things considered, this was not a bad way to go.

My sympathies to Carol as well, John. And it is true that this was a good way to go; quickly and relatively pain free.

Our sympathies to you all, as well. The living will makes it so much easier. But still ... we feel the loss all the same.
